Gina, Erin Field, and AP attend the International Society of Microbial Ecology Conference! We all presented posters on new projects. We soaked in lots of great microbial ecology presentations and visited with new and old friends!
Successful planning, implementation, and breakdown of wetland mesocosm experiment!!! Congrats to Gina for completing her first (of many ;) experiments. Thanks to the lab team and friends of the lab for all the help that went into the success of the project. It takes a village! Now, on to all the lab work to examine the microbes!
Summer crew get together for pizza - Farewell dinner for Jonathan (but good thing he will be down the street at med school) - Wishing Jonathan well after his med school white coat ceremony at ECU's Brody School of Medicine. The summer went by so quickly!
I'm in the process of updating our snazzy new lab site. The 'only' thing left is to recount lab news. Time to organize those photos and files! Stay tuned...
August 2016 - Gina and I participated in a professional development workshop for NC Elementary Science Education Teachers. Thanks to Dr. Tammy Lee, Assistant Professor and Bonnie Glass, Teaching Instructor, Dept. of Mathematics, Science, and Instructional Technology Education, ECU, for welcoming us to the PIRATES Workshop! It was a fun and muddy time in the swamp. The teachers were such an awesome group - so jazzed to be sampling and talking wetlands. Their questions were really great and kept us on our toes! We look forward to keeping in touch.
